TNAsylum Columnist, Big Dawg was at tonight's IMPACT Wrestling show. He will have a full report of his experience next week but he wanted to send in a few notes:
Just got back to my hotel room after being at IMPACT tonight. I see that the report of the dark match and Xplosion match already came in. The thing that was really weird about that was that they taped it AFTER IMPACT instead of before and half the crowd had left already. FYI, I made it down to the front during that Xplosion match and the sign I made was on camera for a good five minutes (they made me take it down eventually). I know the sign made it on during IMPACT also as I had a friend text me about seeing it and someone already commented on it on the IMPACT coverage on TNAsylum tonight. I hope it might garner some web traffic and new readers. The U.K. fans will see it WAYYYYY up close and personal because like I said, the crowd had dispersed and it was very half-ass security during the X-plosion match so I held it up for a long time for the hard-camera.
Here are some notes:
- Like I said, the Xplosion and dark matches were post Impact, the crowd was half gone during during Xplosion and only a quarter were left for the dark match.
-It TOTALLY sounded like Bully Ray actually slipped and said the F-Bomb during his promo with Devon and Aces and Eights, the crowd around me thought so too. (Maybe a very very close version of frickin'?) Don't know how that came across on T.V.
-Half of the chants I started honestly, otherwise the crowd was only REALLY into the RVD/Ion match and the main event of Angle/Hardy without some of my prodding (not to take too much credit but I am a loud bastard that starts chants). Not a very energetic crowd besides those 2 matches. RVD is WAYYY over in the IZ, as is Hardy and Angle.
-I would put a HEAVY, HEAVY bet that Mike Knox is one of the bigger guys in Aces and Eights. It looks exactly like him in person. Luke Gallows was not one of them tonight as the 2 big guys there had shirt sleeves pulled up that would have shown Gallows tats if it was him.
-There was alot of confusion at the start of IMPACT before they went on air that makes me think the announce team change was a late decision before they went on air. Hemme and SoCal Val did come out and talk to the crowd finally less than 10 minutes before IMPACT went on air but without J.B., it seemed disorganized. Little to no communication from the staff and J.B was running back and forth from the announce team to the backstage area until they almost went on air. They told us nothing about the change, and we had no idea who J.B was with at all.
Those are the basic stuff that comes to mind that maybe didn't come across on T.V. I have some great pictures and ALOT to say about the IMPACT ZONE LIVE experience in my article that I plan to post by Tuesday evening at the latest, no time to before then since I have half my vacation left still. If you have any other questions about stuff that happened, just let me know. Hope these notes are helpful in some way.
