In 2005 Samoa Joe debuted at Slammiversary and was dominant in 2005. In a match to determine the number 1 contender for the X Division Championship, Samoa Joe faced Christopher Daniels and won the match but wouldn't stop his attack which prompted AJ Styles to come out and challenge Joe. He told Joe that he broke the X Division code of respect and he was gonna beat respect into him at Turning Point.
