Deadline, the negotiations between Viacom and DirecTV are going very slowly. The two parties are purchasing media spots to get their side of the story out to the public. DirecTV announced today that they would be adding Disney Junior to their programming (as a possible alternative to Nickelodeon). Also DirecTV has offered its subscribers alternate pay channels and Encore for viewing while the issues are being worked out. DirecTV viewers missed yesterday's IMPACT show and the expectation is that they will likely miss another one or two.
The Verdict: I was one of the many who wasn't able to watch IMPACT Wrestling on DirecTV this week. Thankfully, the fan's of the show offered an alternative viewing option, which means that is how I will be watching IMPACT until a resolution is hashed out.
DirecTV has done alot on their side as a make due. They have offered subscribers credits and additional programming. Right now Viacom looks like the bad guy because they are the ones who pulled programming and are forbidding alternate viewing options. They need to be careful because if TNA is off of DirecTV for long enough, people might find other programming to watch and won't return when Viacom Programming does.
