TNA Alumni, "Franchise" Shane Douglas recently spoke about TNA in a recent interview with In Your Head Radio:
Douglas claimed that Dixie Carter has spent nearly $150 million dollars according to his sources in TNA. By comparison, ECW spent roughly $8.2 million dollars in seven years. Douglas talks about how badly they have used the young guys like AJ Styles and Bobby Roode. Douglas feels like those two guys should be stars in the business. "The stuff they are given is god awful." He continued to talk about the business has changed from old and new school.
The topic of Ric Flair taking a shot at Douglas working at Target later got brought up. Douglas says he doesn't mind working for a dollar and mentions that Flair was afraid of wrestling Douglas at the Hardcore Justice pay-per-view after Flair had called Douglas a wife beater. Douglas feels bad for where Flair has ended up in his life. He does note that he was the biggest Flair fan when he was younger. He tells a story about Flair being inappropriate at a bar.
Douglas later claimed that his ECW Extreme Reunion has gotten more buzz than any TNA Show has ever gotten.
Shane says that he didn't work Hardcore Justice because he felt that he would be paid far too little and didn't want Dixie Carter to "rape the legacy of ECW." Douglas notes that when they ran Hardcore Homecoming they gave the wrestlers a bonus because the show was a success.

Talon's Take:
Normally I wouldn't give Shane Douglas the time of day for his irrelevance but I thought this interview was interesting. Douglas is a guy who made his name in ECW for running his mouth and saying things that got him attention. He was never an incredible wrestler and never was a major name outside of ECW. I enjoyed his work in 2006 as the manager of the Naturals and enjoyed his promos at that point.
Shane Douglas came back to TNA in 2009 in piss-poor shape. He had to wear a T-Shirt in his matches with AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels during his run. After that, the shit talk kept on rolling with Douglas.
As for Shane's claim that there has been more buzz about Extreme Reunion than TNA has ever had is a far-out claim. I have barely heard any talk about Extreme Reunion aside from Douglas himself whereas many times in the past few years I have heard alot of buzz about TNA. I bet Extreme Reunion won't even be around a year from now. You can talk about Dixie Carter raping the legacy of ECW but at least she had a platform. Shane Douglas is doing that now beyond the point of anyone caring.
